Yin Yoga
Cool down with Sunday Yin day. End the week of workout and work stress with an hour long, restorative Yin Yoga class, before beginning a new week ahead. If Sunday is your rest day (from work or your workout schedule) it may be a great time to passively stretch and cool down your system in preparation for a busy, new week ahead.
Yin Yoga is a slow style Yoga Asana where the postures are held for longer periods of time, typically anywhere from 3-5 minutes and sometimes longer. This allows your body to passively stretch while focusing on relaxation and breathing. Often times props are used to either modify a pose to make it easier or to intensify a pose to increase range of motion and flexibility. Yoga is for every body type, regardless of where you are at in your wellness journey. Although this is not a fast pace workout, you can still feel a “burn” after Yin Yoga depending on the intensity of the stretch held and length of time.
The following supplies are used during the Yin Yoga class: mat, blocks, strap (9 foot), blanket, bolster (optional).
